Welcome to the W6DHS Digital Voice System and the “TULAROSA BASIN DIGITAL” Amateur Radio Club, which are located in La Luz, New Mexico. This Digital System and amateur radio club serve the Tularosa Basin Amateur Radio community including Tularosa, La Luz, Alamogordo, Holloman Air Force Base, White Sands National Monument, and the surrounding areas. The repeater site sits at 4500 ft with the Sacramento Mountains to the east and the White Sands Missile Range to the west.
We are back in action and in the process of setting up a DMR repeater. It is currently operating in the shack, but soon it will be moved to the barn for production. This homebrew DMR repeater includes:
- Repeater-Builder STM32_DVM_PiHat MMDVM (multi-mode digital voice modem)
- 2 Motorola CDM-1550 analog radios
- Raspberry Pi 3 running G4KLX MMDVMHost & using Pi-Star
Repeater info: 144.960 MHz -0.400MHz
We, the W6DHS Tularosa Basin Digital team — Kathy, KD6USA (President); Larry, WW6USA (Trustee); Heather, future ham (Treasurer); Mark, AF6FR (software guy) and Jim, K6JM (web guy) — are pleased to provide Southern New Mexico with an open DMR repeater system. Once it is in full production, everyone will be welcome to use it.
